Recycling Operative – Rotherham

Job Description

We welcome you to apply for our Recycling Operative / Yard Operative or Litter Picker position in Wath-upon-Dearne, Rotherham.

Due to the safety-critical nature of this position, successful candidates will be asked to complete a drug and alcohol test on their first day.

You will be expected to work within a plant environment, sorting recyclable items from general waste from a conveyor belt.

This position is potential for someone to cover shift manager in future which means to have management experience is advantage to application.

The working hours are 7am – 4pm (first day), then 8am – 4pm or 10am -6pm Monday to Friday, in future other shifts will be available.

In the future the shifts will change for Days/afternoon and night shift.

Pay rate ranges from £13.17 basic ( Monday to Friday) – £19.76(Saturday), £26.34(Sunday)

To be a successful candidate you will have the following skills and experience:

Previous experience within a waste environment would be beneficial, follow instructions accurately, attention to detail, self-motivated, hardworking, flexible and reliable.

Please note there is drug and alcohol tests randomly on site.

Recycling Operative/Litter Picker/ Yard Operative duties will include:

• Sorting recyclable items from general waste.
• Work as Litter picker to make sure the waste is not flying around the site.
• Working in a large team within a waste plant.
• Working on fast paced production lines.
• Maintenance of the machinery on site, cleaning site.
• Operating bailing machines, telehandler and FLT after trainings.
